We Have a Winner! (Actually 2 Winners!)

My  very first Rafflecopter is coming to a close It was a good run with 133 contest entries and 58 new Facebook Likes on the Catshy Crafts Facebook Page over 2 weeks time. The page was hopping with activity with new fans and old.

And now, I have not one, but two winners to announce! (As you may know I added a 2nd winner when I reached 100 contest entries.)

The first name picked (by random.org) is.......Lisa Page! Congrats Lisa! She won a 5-inch custom hoop art with felt flowers and leaves. The name or monogram to be embroidered will be up to her. Can't wait to see what she chooses.

And now for the Grand Prize Winner who takes home a set of felt flowers, a 5-inch custom hoop are with felt flowers and leaves and a 12-inch wreath wrapped in yarn and decorated with felt flowers (a $125 value)! The winner (chosen by random.org) is....... Taylor!

Because Taylor is local - and actually is a friend of mine -- I will invite her over so she can choose some felt colors in person! That will be a fun day!

Congratulations again to Lisa and Taylor!

But wait there's more!

I will be e-mailing each entrant to say thanks and give them a coupon for the shop. The exact discount will be a surprise! Thanks again for playing along. And don't worry, this won't be the last giveaway. It's just the beginning.

she (digi) scraps: beachy keen + giveaway

beachy keen | digital kits by Sahlin Studio

My family and I went on a little beach getaway last week. To Long Beach. No, not the one in California. Nope, not even the one in NY. It's in Washington! So we didn't even have to board a plane. It was 3 1/2 hour drive. Apparently we are all rusty on our long road trip skills as daughter number 2 had a few MAJOR meltdowns en route to our destination. Our first night was no better with a hot room and paper thin walls.

But when we were on the beach, we all relaxed a bit. We collected feathers. We flew kites we made ourselves. We built sandcastles. We read books. We walked barefoot on the silky fine sand. We stared at the sea.

Now we're back at home. We have birthday parties in our future. In-laws in-town. A possible bathroom renovation just about to begin. And....new plans for my Etsy shop. So glad we took that relaxing vacation ;)

p.s. There is still time to enter my felt flower giveaway. Jump over to Rinne's blog for the details.

Giveaway at Rinne's Bliss!

As a scrapbooker and now Etsy shop owner, I've made many friends online - all connected through our love of creating and sharing our art.

Corinne is one such friend. She's been supportive of my scrapbooking (back when I was Fashionista at ScrapinStyleTV.com) and now of my Etsy shop.  Because she is such a sweet person and one of my very best customers, I thought it would be a wonderful idea for her to host a giveaway of my felt flowers.

To enter the giveaway, please visit Corinne's blog here.

Felt Flowers in Action

Corinne has used my flowers on some of her gorgeous cards that she creates.  Here are a few of my faves.

I loved seeing how my felt flowers are being used! And if you have ever purchased one of my flower sets from Catshy Crafts, please link me up to your projects! I'd love to see them. I do have a couple of photos that my customers have shared with me. I'll post those on a future blog post.

Giveaway!

So now that you've seen how some of my felt flowers are being used, would you like to win a set? I am giving away one set of ten triple-layered flowers as shown here. These flowers are hand-cut and hand-stitched using high-quality wool-blend felt. These have a slim profile so they are perfect for adding to scrapbook layouts, cards and home decor projects.

Here's a scrapbook page I created using similar flowers.

I attached the flowers using a glue dot. You could also use a liquid adhesive. If you were attaching to a home decor project, such as a yarn-wrapped wreath, I recommend using a hot glue gun. Oh, the possibilities!

If you would like too enter the giveaway, please visit Corinne's blog for all the details. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Pinterest Challenge + Giveaway!

Have you heard of Pinterest?

In case you haven't, let me give you the 411. Pinterest is a website where you pin your favorite images on to various boards that you create. It is the online equivalent of tearing out pages from your favorite magazines and pinning it to a bulletin board. You are basically curating your own gallery of eye candy. I have my own Pinterest boards here. I have boards like "party inspiration" to give me ideas for my girls' parties or "scrapbook pages I love" to give me idea about my next scrapbook page or "yummy recipes" etc. You get the idea.

It's a great way to keep track of all those sites you stumble upon and want to remember.  The best part about Pinterest is that you share your boards with people who "follow" you. And you can follow other inspiring pinners as well. It's quite interactive....and addictive. People can "like" your pins, comment on your pins and even "re-pin" your pins.

Now this brings me to my next question.

Now, have you heard of The Pinterest Challenge?

I'm Topsy Turvy

Chances are, if you are crafty or love DIY, you are pinning an image because it inspires you. Or moves you. And eventually (some day?) you want to make that something. For example, I have a board called "Things I Want To Make." That's where The Pinterest Challenge comes in.

The challenge is simply to make something inspired by something you pinned. Then you share the link to your project as well as the original source of the pin. Then a winner is chosen and fabulous prizes are given away.

That's where I come in. At least for this month of June (Round 9). The lovely Rebecca from BetterLifeBags, a fellow Etsy seller and blogger, invited me to be a sponsor for this month's challenge. I immediately said yes because I love Pinterest and I love Etsy!

And here's what I'm giving away to the winner (who will be chosen by the guest "pinhead" this month : Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters).

So, I hope you do check out the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today!

almost ready: artist reception for Pretty Craft Show

It's the eve of my artist's reception at Cupcake Royale. And I have to say I'm pretty nervous about it all.  I am not a party girl, even though I love to make festive things for parties. from the invitations (my show flyers) to the decorations (all my work in the show) to the favors (yes, i made party favors!) to the scrapbook pages I will make after the party is all over, i love creating. but the actual party itself gives me the jitters. but I will take a deep breath and enjoy my little launch. I will have my family there. And my friends. So that's all that matters, right?
