Etsy Love: Goody Jar

I am not the only avid Etsy shopper in my family. My eight-year-old daughter has bought a handful of items (with her own allowance!) from wonderful Etsy sellers in the past year or two.

She immediately fell in love with these "sweeties" from the GoodyJar when I showed her a photo. (Yes, I am such an enabler!) She didn't have enough money saved up at the time, so she had to wait a few weeks.

Every few days, she would mention how much she wanted them and take a peek online to see them.

When we finally ordered them, the shop just so happened to be offering Free Shipping for the sweeties! So I guess it was a good idea to wait ;) I also wrote a short note to Robin of GoodyJar to tell her how much my daughter was loving her items and couldn't wait to receive them. She replied quickly, saying that she would include a special gift for Sofia!

A few short days later, we got a sweet package.

Sofia opens the sweetly packaged items as Zara watches on. Washi tape and hand-drawn word art? What's not to love?!

The extra-special free gift just for Sofia came in a polka-dot glassine envelope! So unique and that extra something that made Sofia extra happy ;)

Cuddling her sweeties. I think she likes them!

I'm so happy Sofia loves handmade crafts as much as I do. And even happier that she is more than willing to save her own allowance money to buy the items she falls in love with. (Sofia has her eye on this item next.)

Crafty Swap: Be Happy! + One Happy Mama

A crafty swap with One Happy Mama

I love crafty swaps. The anticipation. The creating. The happiness-inducing package that lands on your front doorstep. I'm going to share with you my latest craft swap. It was so much fun!

I made this darling 5 inch hoop for my friend, Kristina of One Happy Mama and Baby Bird and Bub Bub. I was happily surprised when she won the huge holiday giveaway at A Lovely Lark a few months ago. One of the prizes was a custom hoop by yours truly. She told me she liked this personalized name hoop art, but wanted to change the colors (happy and bright) and of course change the words (be happy).

You see that Zara didn't want to let this one go. You could say I took more than enough photos of her and this adorable hoop before I sent it off to Kristina.

Words to live by. I think Zara subscribes to this philosophy.

But this wasn't the only hoop I was sending Kristina. Several months before, we had agreed to do a swap. Kristina has an amazing print shop on Etsy. She was kind enough to custom design my very own print with my favorite motifs: embroidery hoop and thought bubbles! I love it. And the cute postcard and moo card are adorable!

Goodies I received from my swap partner Kristina

For her, I made a custom hoop, with the name of her blog. I love her color choices! As you can tell, she loves happy colors.

And because I love how the hoops turned out, I just put the "be happy" hoop in my shop! You can also customize it with your own colors and sayings as well. Go here to check it out in my shop.

Have you participated in a crafty shop lately? How did it go?

etsy love mondays!

Hoop to be going in the shop soon! I will be offering different colorways :)
It's been such a great (and nervewracking) experience setting up my shop on Etsy, getting wonderful feedback from customers and exploring the Etsy community.  So many creative and talented people out there.

So I'd love to share some of my recent favorites. This is my latest treasury featuring one of my fave color combos: red and teal. Perfect for Valentine's Day! I love to choose a mix of items from jewelry to prints and photographs to plushies and pillows to clothing and accessories and even vintage housewares. Hope you like it!

I have some awesome new items from Etsy to share. This is a treasury I curated called: have yourself a merry christmas. Anyone can make a treasury. It's a fun way to share your etsy favorites with everybody and showcase your fellow artists' and crafters' work. (It's a no-no to put your own shop items in your treasury.)

And I found a fun way to display it on the blog. Through a widget at craft cult. Go here to make your own treasury widget. Enjoy!

etsy love mondays

Mondays can be pretty hectic around here. My oldest daughter heads back to school and I take my youngest to her mommy and me class in the morning. After a relaxing weekend with the family, it can be a little hard to get back into the grind of the week.

But one thing that always seem to get me going is the inspiration and eye candy I always manage to find on Etsy. (I love Etsy!)

So I thought I would start a new feature on the Catshy blog called etsy love mondays! I'll share the items I've added to my favorites on Etsy in the past week. Who's with me?

Here are nine of my favorites for this week....

1. Original 70s dutch fabric handmade cat toy plush softie  2. Children's room decor 3. cute rain drop stickers. 4. bella flower necklace. 5. Little Bear Friend 6. Remember Christmas Lights 7. Mid century Danish modern teak table cart 1960s Eames era 8. Thanks Card 9. Read wood sign made from recycled wood

What about you? Did you favorite anything from Etsy this week? Link me up in the comments. I'd love to check it out!
